When You Want to React—Remember the Love of God

Something is going to happen. At some point—maybe even today—you’ll find yourself in a situation that tests your peace, your patience, and your purpose. But in that moment, what will you choose?

This life will always offer opportunities to respond in the flesh. But as believers, our calling is higher. We are not just reactors; we are reflectors—of the love and grace of God. And when trials come, we must remember: God is a loving God. His love is not reserved for our calm days; it’s most powerful when we feel like we’re falling apart.

So, take a breath. Whisper a prayer: “God, show me how to respond in this situation.” Not what I want to do, but what I need to do. Lord, I want my walk with You to remain clear, upright, and unshakable—even when I’m shaken by life.

That kind of spiritual maturity doesn’t just show up; it grows through submission and surrender. It’s about asking God not just to fix things, but to fix us—to help us reflect His character in the middle of the chaos.

Let’s be honest. It’s not easy. But God never asked us to do it alone. His grace reigns over us every single day. And sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that truth out loud: God loves me.

Yes—every day, say it with conviction: God loves me. His love is not based on your performance, your pain, or your past. It’s based on His promise. And if you walk away from anything today, walk away knowing this: You are loved by God.

So before you respond to that email, that comment, that temptation to snap—pause. Invite God into your reaction. Let your response be soaked in grace. And let the love of God be louder than any offense.

Because in the end, it’s not about proving a point. It’s about proving your heart belongs to Him.
